Katie Price When She Was Young – The Jordan Years That Changed Everything

Published on November 13, 2025 by Jones Carol

My mum used to buy The Sun every morning. I remember seeing those Page 3 photos around the kitchen table back in the late 90s. Katie Price Jordan was everywhere.

Katie Price young was just something else. Before all the bankruptcy headlines, before reality shows started to get dirty and before her life became one long tabloid headline, she was just a self-assured teen from Brighton who transformed British glamour modelling.

She’s now 47 (as Katie Price age born May 22, 1978) and still hitting the headlines, albeit for very different reasons. Looking back at where it all started feels wild.

Started Modelling at 13 and Early Teen Work

Kati, real name Katrina Amy Alexandra Alexis Infield at the time started modelling as a child. She landed a modelling gig for a clothing line at the age of 13. That photographer went on to be jailed as a paedophile and wanted to shoot her in just her underwear. Proper grim, that. She was unaware at the time, of course.

Left school at 16 to become a full-time model. Her father, Ray, had disappeared when she was four, so at 17 she adopted the surname of her stepdad, Paul Price. Dropped “Infield” completely.

A friend recommended she have professional photos taken. Sent them off to a London modelling agency. Katie, 18 years old in 1996, secured a job as a Page 3 girl for the British tabloid The Sun under the alias “Jordan”.

That name change was clever. Jordan sounded bold, different. Gave her that alter ego to keep work and real life separate. Though eventually the two became impossible to separate.

“Katie Price as Jordan” How the Name Change Made Her Famous?

Katie Price young as Jordan, wasn’t just another Page 3 model. She had this attitude, this confidence that jumped off the page. Fuller figure than most models at the time, she wasn’t shy about cosmetic surgery. Got her first breast enlargement at 18, going from 32B to 32C.

Had eight more surgeries after that, eventually reaching 32G. The media went mental about it. Everyone had an opinion. Katie didn’t care. Her body, her choice.

She appeared in FHM, Playboy, Nuts, Maxim, Loaded, even Vogue and Esquire. Jordan became a household name. Lads’ mags couldn’t get enough of her. She was everywhere from 1998 to 2004.

Went on Telly and Everything Changed

Back in 2004, Katie featured on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! At that place, she met Peter Andre. And their relationship became this huge story. Everyone watched them fall in love in the jungle.

They married in 2005. Had two children: Junior (born 2005) and Princess (born 2007). ITV2’s Katie & Peter shows aired between 2004 and 2009. Millions saw their domestic life on screen.

They went their separate ways in 2009, and both found success on their own. Hers was called “What Katie Did Next”. Peak reality TV era, that.

I remember my mates’ mums being obsessed with Katie & Peter. Watched every episode. The wedding special got massive ratings.

Katie Price Net Worth Was Massive Then

At her peak, Katie Price net worth hit £40-45 million. That’s from modelling, TV shows, book deals, perfume lines, fashion ranges, everything. She was minting it.

Her first autobiography, “Being Jordan”, came out in 2004. Sold over a million copies. A million! Her second book sold 198,105 copies in three months. She wrote novels too, “Crystal”, “Angel”, and “Sapphire”. All bestsellers.

In 2006, she launched a lingerie collection. Had perfume lines, beauty products, and fashion ranges. Built this entire business empire around the Jordan/Katie Price brand.

The money was rolling in constantly. She was one of Britain’s most successful celebrity businesswomen.

Life’s Been Rough Lately

Fast forward to November 2025, and everything’s different. Katie’s been declared bankrupt three times. Owed HMRC over £760,000 in unpaid tax. Both bankruptcies were recently cleared according to her solicitor, but the damage to her finances has been massive.

Katie Price net worth now? Around £500,000. That’s a £39.5 million drop from her peak. Spent over £130,000 on plastic surgeries over the years. Had financial mismanagement issues, legal troubles, the whole lot.

She’s been in the hospital recently over worrying about weight loss. Just dissolved her lip fillers on TikTok last week, saying she wants to “start fresh.” The transformation from Katie price young to now has been quite something.

Katie Price and JJ Slater Are Dating

Her love life’s still tabloid fodder. Currently dating JJ Slater from Married at First Sight UK. They were spotted holding hands in Ayia Napa recently. He’s 32, she’s 47. Age gap raised eyebrows, but Katie doesn’t seem bothered.

She’s been married three times Peter Andre (2005-2009), Alex Reid (2010-2011), and Kieran Hayler (2013-2021). Had relationships with footballer Dwight Yorke (father of her eldest son Harvey), loads of others. Her romantic life’s been plastered across tabloids for 25 years straight.

Her exes Alex Reid and Kieran Hayler have teamed up legally to try to stop her upcoming 2025 documentary. Peter Andre’s also spoken out against it. They’re all tired of being part of her public narrative.

Still Working Constantly

Katie’s on tour right now with Kerry Katona doing “An Evening with Katie Price and Kerry Katona.” They’re sharing stories about bankruptcy, marriage, divorce, the lot. Tickets include meet-and-greet options for extra cash.

An Evening with Katie Price and Kerry Katona.

She performed at the UK Glamour Awards on November 13th, earning £10,000 for singing “I Got U” her 2017 single that randomly hit number one on iTunes this summer. Mental how these things happen.

Makes about £50,000 monthly. Courts ordered her to pay 40% of that income toward debts until February 2027. She’s also doing Diesel fashion campaigns, has loads of followers on Katie Price Instagram, and is training to become a life coach and paramedic, apparently.

Got a role in a comedy movie called “Jackie The Stripper” with Jamie Lomas. Her second film role ever. First was a cameo in some 2017 disaster movie nobody watched.

What Made Young Katie Special

Looking back at Katie Price young, what made her stand out was this fearless quality. She wasn’t trying to be classy or respectable. Just did what she wanted, said what she thought, owned every choice she made.

In the late 90s and early 2000s, that was quite something. Britain was still fairly conservative in some ways. Jordan was revolutionary, this working-class girl from Brighton who built a massive career on her own terms.

She forced conversations about cosmetic surgery, about women owning their sexuality, about the line between public and private life. Whether you liked her or not, she was impossible to ignore.

My mum always said Katie was either brilliant or bonkers, possibly both. Couldn’t argue with that, really.

The Reality Now

At 47, Katie’s still fighting. Cleared both bankruptcies, working multiple jobs, trying to rebuild her fortune. Says she’ll be a millionaire again. Maybe she will be, who knows?

Her life’s been proper chaotic, with failed marriages, financial disasters, legal troubles, health scares, and media pile-ons. Most people would’ve quit by now. Katie just keeps going.

That’s the same energy Katie Price young had back in 1996 when she walked into that Sun office as Jordan. Refusing to give up, refusing to fade away, determined to stay relevant no matter what.

Whether that’s admirable or exhausting depends on your perspective. Probably a bit of both.

She’s training as a paramedic now, whilst doing reality TV and touring and acting. Only Katie Price could have that combination of jobs and make it somehow work.

Looking Back at Jordan

Those early Jordan years feel like a different era now. Page 3 doesn’t exist anymore in The Sun. Glamour modelling isn’t what it was. Reality TV’s changed completely. Social media’s taken over everything.

But Katie Price young as Jordan, was a massive cultural moment. She represented something; female empowerment to some, objectification to others. Regardless, she made her mark.

When I see recent pictures of Katie at 47 looking worryingly thin, or read about her legal troubles, or watch her dissolve her lip fillers, saying she wants to start fresh, I think about that confident 18-year-old who became Jordan.

She’s had an extraordinary life. Made millions, lost millions. Found fame, arguably became too famous. Built an empire, watched it crumble, now trying to build again.

That’s Katie Price. Still here, still fighting, still refusing to disappear quietly.

The Jordan era might be long gone, but the woman who created it is still very much around. For better or worse, we’re probably not done hearing about Katie Price anytime soon.
