So Liberty Poole’s single again. To be honest, I could see this coming a mile off.
She’s just revealed that she’s separated from Joshua Raybould after a year of dating. Poor girl posted on Instagram saying, “Josh and I are no longer together.” Could tell she was gutted. She said something about how she thought this would be her happy ending, but life isn’t a fairytale. Made me want to hug her.
What Actually Happened
I’ve been a fan of Liberty since Love Island. And the girls had bad luck with men. First, that terrible Jake business, and now this. For a moment, Joshua looked fine; he was involved in DJ-ing and a little bit in modelling. They started dating back in last August and they looked really happy in all their photos.

My Honest Opinion
Liberty falls too hard, too fast. Always has. I understand, but when you’ve been hurt, it’s easy to want to hold on tight to the next good thing that comes your way. But posting your couple of photos every five minutes? That’s asking for trouble.
My sister is the same way. Three dates and she’ll be updating her Facebook status, booking weekend trips. It never ends well. The pressure’s mad when everyone’s watching your every move online.
Joshua had a decent following on Instagram before they got together. Hardly a nobody riding her coattails. That’s also why we all thought he might be for real. But having your own Instagram following doesn’t make you boyfriend material, does it?

Liberty’s mates weren’t surprised. The gossip pages say some of them were sceptical from the start. It’s the worst feeling to watch your friend continue to make the same mistakes and bite your tongue.
I had a friend like this at uni. Beautiful girl, but awful taste in men. You’d drop hints and make passing comments, but she’d be too besotted to pay mind. When everything went awry, you’d be the one with the tissues and wine.
The timing’s brutal, though. They had just reached their one-year mark. That’s the point at which couples typically consider living together and formally meeting each other’s parents. Instead, they’re calling lawyers about who gets the matching his-and-hers tracksuits.
Why This Keeps Happening
Liberty’s pattern is obvious. Love Island messed with her head. Jake essentially informed the entire nation that he was not interested in her. Imagine recovering from that humiliation. No wonder she clung to the first decent bloke who showed interest in her.
But here’s the thing: trauma doesn’t heal with a new boyfriend. I realised that the hard way, following my own relationship disaster in 2019. It took me a couple of years of being single to get my head straight properly.

Liberty’s inner circle saw the cracks months ago. Different life goals, apparently. She’s looking for her fairy tale: marriage, babies, and matching Christmas jumpers. He just didn’t want to get too serious while he was still working to build his career as a DJ.

Social media makes everything worse. When you broadcast every joyful moment, every argument becomes public. You can’t just quietly drift apart; your followers want explanations, declarations, and closure.
Liberty has been forthright about this whole break-up episode, and I admire that. There have been no cryptic quotes or deleted photos at 3 a.m. Simply put: ‘We’re done. Thank you for your support. ‘We’re moving on.’ Fair play to her.
What Now?
She’s 25 and has her business right, fanbase right, and career right. The Liberty Poole boyfriend search will continue, no doubt, but maybe she needs a break first.
My advice? Delete the dating apps. Stop looking. Focus on work, friends, and family. The right person shows up when you’re not desperately looking.
I found my current partner when I had simply stopped dating. Went to Tesco for reduced-price ready meals and chocolate buttons. Hardly romantic, but it worked.
