Kathryn Drysdale Movies and TV Shows – Her Career So Far

Published on July 15, 2026 by Linda Marcus

Kathryn Drysdale’s movies and TV shows go back a solid twenty-odd years at this point. She started in Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, spent years as modiste Genevieve Delacroix in Bridgerton, and these days she’s Bea in the BBC’s Small Prophets. Still doing voice work too, and the occasional stage role when something good comes along.

KEY POINTS
  • Small Prophets is her big one right now, playing Bea in Mackenzie Crook’s BBC Two comedy. Premiered 9 February 2026, five stars from The Guardian, five stars from The Times too
  • She was Genevieve Delacroix in Bridgerton for three seasons, but that’s where it ends – no Season 4 for her
  • On the voice side, she’s done Dotty in Lloyd of the Flies and Bounce in Bottersnikes & Gumbles
  • Also voiced Radar the bat in a BBC Radio 4 drama, The Wind in the Willows: A Weasel’s Tale, back in November 2025
  • Stage-wise, she starred opposite James McAvoy as Grace Shelley in The Ruling Class, a West End run

Early Career And Breakthrough

Kathryn Drysdale

Born 1 December 1981, Drysdale’s first TV credit was People Like Us back in 1999. Recognition didn’t really come until Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, though, where she played Louise Brooks from 2001 to 2009. Eight series, which is no small feat for a sitcom actor. She wasn’t just doing TV at the time either – film work included Rhoda Swartz in Vanity Fair and Taylor in St Trinian’s, the 2007 one.

The TV Years That Made Her Name

She joined Benidorm for its fourth series in 2011, playing holidaymaker Natalie Jones on ITV. Then came a real change of pace, a satirical Meghan Markle in Channel 4’s The Windsors, which she stuck with from 2016 to 2023. That said, ask around and it’s Genevieve Delacroix in Bridgerton people bring up first. Sharp-tongued, keeping somebody’s secret, always somehow at the centre of a scandal that wasn’t even hers.

The Bridgerton Wiki has her in it from the very start in 2020 through to season three in 2024, 18 episodes in total. She’s not in season four, though. The Tab put it down to her character’s whole reason for being on the show, keeping Penelope’s Lady Whistledown secret, basically disappearing once that secret got out. Nowhere left for the storyline to go, really.

What She’s Up To In 2026

Kathryn Drysdale Small Prophets

The big one this year is Small Prophets, Mackenzie Crook’s follow-up to Detectorists, where Drysdale plays Bea across four episodes. Filmed around Manchester, it landed on BBC Two and iPlayer back in February, with Pearce Quigley and Michael Palin leading, and it’s done properly well critically, even picked up a best series award at Series Mania 2026. She’s kept the voice work going too, which has quietly turned into a decent chunk of her career over the years, Bounce in Bottersnikes & Gumbles, plus roles in Circle Square and Dennis & Gnasher: Unleashed!.

Theatre And Radio Work

She’s kept a foot in theatre this whole time. Trained classically, worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company at one point, and played Grace Shelley alongside James McAvoy in The Ruling Class, West End. Then more recently, a BBC Radio 4 drama came along, The Wind in the Willows: A Weasel’s Tale, which aired back in November 2025.
